Guy was raised in Sudbury, Massachusetts and graduated from the Williston Northampton School in 1953. He received his B.A. from Yale University in 1957, where he was a member of Skull and Bones. After serving as an officer in the U.S. Army, Guy began a long and distinguished career in the investment industry, beginning at the Bank of New York. In 1966, he was a founder and President of the investment management firm Davis, Palmer and Biggs, Inc. in New York. After his company was purchased by Fiduciary Trust Company in 1978, he was a senior officer at Fiduciary and later at Ayco/American Express. Guy also loved the Williston Northampton School, where he was on the Board of Trustees and received the school's highest recognition, the Distinguished Service Award.

Guy was an avid golfer and was a member of the Pine Valley Golf Club. A lover of fine wines, he was inducted into the Chevaliers du Tastevin by the Grand Master of the Order, January 1975.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 21 at St. Peter's Episcopal Church on Skidaway Island. Another memorial service is planned for this coming June in Pelham Manor, New York.

June - My condolences to you and the family. Guy and I served together on the Ayco/American Express Board of Directors, shared mutual clients, etc. Guy was a tremendous asset to Ayco during those growth years, and a great friend to all of us. If possible, please let me know the details for the Service in Pelham. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

I was a classmate of Guy's at Wlliston Academy now Williston Northampton School. While I haven't seen Guy since we graduated in 1953, I remember him well. He was an extremely nice, very gracious person with a good sense of humor and a first-rate set of values. We were on the varsity baseball team together -- he was our catcher and I played third base. Needless to say, neither of us made it to the major leagues. But I certainly enjoyed him as a person and am sad to learn of his passing. My condolences to his entire family.
